Uncomfort zone: an installation to break the silence on domestic violence
2025
Home is not always home
Home is not always home. In 94.9%* of cases, women suffer violence at the hands of a partner, ex-partner, or family member, often within the home. That is why, on November 25, based on an idea by WAW Studio, we chose to support and collaborate with the artistic duo to create the installation Uncomfort Zone near our offices. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among victims to use the Anti-Violence and Stalking Number 1522 as a tool for reporting abuse, to bring to light what too often remains hidden within the home.
This activity—like the restoration of the Mural Against Femicide created in Rome last year—is part of the initiatives promoted by our ‘Stream Activism’, which in 2024 identified gender equality as NATIVA's social cause.
This same direction has led us to join the Fondazione Libellula network and to launch an internal training program, with the aim of deepening the corporate culture on these issues and guiding more conscious action within our ecosystem.
Through this process, we are all becoming increasingly aware that gender-based violence is not an emergency, but a structural phenomenon. And how it can only be prevented through profound cultural change, which must come from companies, communities, and schools. As well as from words, behaviors, and everyday choices.
We invite anyone who feels they are a victim of gender-based violence to call 1522 or visit the Anti-Violence and Stalking Number website: https://www.1522.eu/
