FEUDI DI SAN GREGORIO BECOMES A B CORP

The B Corp certification rewards companies that are committed to generating a positive impact for the environment and the community; Feudi di San Gregorio is the first winery in Southern Italy to achieve this milestone.

Feudi di San Gregorio, a southern Italian winery and one of Italy’s leading wine brands, continues its journey toward a sustainable business model by achieving the B Corp certification, which measures and rewards companies based on their environmental and social performance, transparency and accountability, and who are committed to improving their positive impact toward employees, their communities and the environment.

B Corp tools, which allow for a measurement of a company’s environmental and social performance, are now widespread: more than 200,000 companies to date have measured themselves with the B Impact Assessment, a standard promoted by B Lab, an international nonprofit that awards the certification. In Italy, there are more than 150 B Corp companies.

Over the years, the company has developed various projects: from the implementation of ever-lower-impact cultivation methods (developed in partnership with national and international research centers), to the adoption of increasingly sustainable packaging components, to the use of energy exclusively from renewable sources, to projects in the social arena.

The B Corp certification, which we, as NATIVA, helped Feudi di San Gregorio achieve, represents the continuation of a path of constant improvement with a view to sustainability and is part of a journey undertaken by Feudi di San Gregorio for years. It follows the corporate transformation into a Benefit Corporation (May 2021)and the achievement of Equalitas certification by the Ministry of Agriculture (August 2021). This also follows the company’s recent membership in CO2alizione Italia (May 2022), an initiative that brings together more than 60 Italian companies that have decided to commit to climate neutrality, including it as a goal within their own Bylaws.

The B Corp movement was born more than 15 years ago to demonstrate that companies can create a positive impact for people, communities and the planet. Today, with more than 5,000 B Corp companies and over 200,000 using B Lab tools, we are at a turning point, achieved through the realization that sustainability is not a practice or a process but is the company itself. Congratulations to Feudi di San Gregorio, which, by achieving certification, demonstrates its commitment to a new way of doing business, in which the generation of value for all stakeholders takes a central role along with the generation of profit.Paolo Di Cesare- NATIVA co-founder

Achieving the B Corp certification is a great encouragement to continue working in different directions in respect of our suppliers and customers, our daily work and the economic and social goals of the company. It is also recognition of our commitment to sustainable action, in environmental, social and economic terms, seeking to preserve the beauty of our territory and the integrity of our community in order to leave the world a better place than it was before.Antonio Capaldo- Feudi di San Gregorio President
