The collaboration between NATIVA Campus and Sammontana Italia Società Benefit
In 21st-century companies, true innovation isn’t just about processes and products: it stems from internal culture. Only by evolving people’s mindset is it possible to tackle the multiple crises—climate, social, and health—and bring about a genuine and lasting transformation.
Sammontana Italia Società Benefit, the Italian leader in frozen baked goods, pastries, and ice cream, is moving in this direction. The company chose NATIVA Campus, NATIVA’s advanced training school, to embark on a cultural development journey through a Custom Lab consisting of 5 workshops, which involved over 100 people, including top management and the CEO.
The goal? To create a shared foundation of knowledge regarding the company’s sustainability journey and the shared responsibility of being part of it, with a particular focus on diversity and inclusion.
The Custom Lab: a transformative learning experience
NATIVA Campus’s Custom Lab is a true Transformative Learning Experience, combining scientific rigor, a systemic vision, and strong human engagement.
In the case of Sammontana Italia Società Benefit, this took the form of a program that:
- Provided an in-depth analysis of key environmental and social trends, the global impact of the food sector, and the strategic value of sustainability as a driver of business
- Allowed for a close exploration of the 5 common good objectives of Sammontana Italia Società Benefit bylaws, helping company employees understand their scope and recognize the value of Regenerative Governance
- Fostered connection and active participation by putting people at the center through an educational and participatory exploration of the concepts of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Topics such as cognitive biases and inclusive language were addressed in an experiential manner, encouraging the emergence of different perspectives and their comparison through authentic connection, dialogue, and sharing.
The workshops devoted significant time to exploring the company’s socio-cultural dynamics related to DE&I issues, first examining in a theoretical manner and then through participatory activities the various types of cognitive biases to which we are subject, and subsequently how language shapes our culture.
Active participation was facilitated by the Campus team’s moderation and the alternation of plenary sessions, games, and small-group discussions, stimulating not only a deeper understanding of the proposed topics but also mutual understanding among colleagues, especially in cases where this was not already evident in day-to-day work.
An experience that is part of the company’s broader journey of cultural evolution, providing shared tools and languages to continue growing, together, a culture capable of generating lasting value for people, communities, and the local area.
