NATIVA Honored with the 2025 Ambrogino d’Oro

We are proud to announce that the City of Milan has awarded NATIVA the 2025 Ambrogino d’Oro, a prestigious honor bestowed upon individuals, associations, and organizations that have made a special contribution to the city.

The City recognized NATIVA’s pioneering role in introducing the legal status of Benefit Corporation in Italy, as well as its contribution to spreading—both nationally and internationally—a business culture focused not only on economic value, but also on social and environmental impact. It also acknowledged NATIVA’s commitment to promoting a regenerative business paradigm and to supporting the transformation of the Milanese area toward a more future-oriented economy.

Since 2010, we have been supporting companies in the transition of their business models toward a regenerative paradigm, where innovation aims to generate more value (economic, social, and environmental) than the resources consumed in operations. Since 2013, we have also worked to promote the introduction of the Benefit Corporation legal status in Italy, which was incorporated into national law in 2016 under the name Società Benefit.
Today, this model serves as a benchmark for thousands of companies that choose to adopt governance structures focused on creating shared value and better equipped to face the challenges of the 21st century. NATIVA is committed to promoting its large-scale adoption as a powerful driver of innovation for the economic and social fabric.

This recognition fills us with pride and motivates us to continue our work in the years ahead, as expressed by our founders:

Eric Ezechieli, co-founder of NATIVA, commented:
“We are honored, and even more so we feel a strong sense of responsibility to unlock the full potential of a business model that is increasingly necessary. We hope that institutions, together with companies and citizens—both in Milan and throughout Italy—will increasingly promote business models aimed at creating conditions that support life and genuine human well-being, in addition to economic value.”

Paolo Di Cesare, co-founder of NATIVA, added:
“Benefit Corporations represent the necessary evolution of doing business. The awarding of the Ambrogino d’Oro to NATIVA not only recognizes our efforts, but also acknowledges Milan’s extraordinary responsiveness—with more than 1,000 Società Benefit—and, more broadly, that of Italy as a whole, to a business model that combines profit with social and environmental impact. We are proud to be at the service of this evolution.”
